In 2016 we were delighted to mark the 25th anniversary of Cawdor Heritage Group with the publication of A History of Cawdor Parish.

H of C P book cover

A History of Cawdor Parish was a best seller and we have very few copies left. We are considering having it republished. Please contact us if you would like a copy, price £10 plus P&P, and we will do our best to help you.

What has shaped the present parish of Cawdor? Newcomers and children may wish to know more about the place in which they live. Older residents like to share their memories of times past and present. This was very obvious in 1991 when Reg King and Dan Morrison gave a show in the Village Hall entitled: Cawdor the way it was …

Since then the Heritage Group has collected a wealth of interesting facts showing how the parish has evolved. It may also help people trace ancestors and picture the conditions in which they lived.

This was the first in what is planned to be a series of books on Cawdor ranging from an in-depth look into the census records to a host of local reminiscences.

Following a A History of Cawdor Parish the next two books to be published were, Nairn’s Neighbours and A History of Foresty in Cawdor. Both of these titles are also in short supply however we may be able to re-publish.

In future years we plan to publish books on Local People’s Reminiscences and Education in Nairnshire.
